Artemis: Return to the Moon

Artemis: Return to the Moon Gallery

Artemis: Return to the Moon continues Roland Miller’s visual documentation of the United States’ crewed space exploration efforts. The Artemis missions are slated to take astronauts back to the Moon in an Orion spacecraft launched on the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket.

The Artemis Program aims to return humans to the surface of the Moon by the end of this decade. The Artemis 1 mission launched an uncrewed Orion spacecraft around the Moon and returned it to Earth. Artemis 2 will launch four astronauts around the Moon without landing. It will take humans farther from Earth than ever before.

Later this decade, Artemis 3 will land humans on the Moon for the first time since 1972.
