Color Cast Correction

Along with the White Point Setting, the Color Cast setting ensures accurate color rendition in the image.

I intentionally introduced a color cast to the image on the left and corrected it using individual color channels in the Curves dialog box, as shown on the previous page. The correction appears subtle, but look at how the grays in the launch tower of the corrected image on the left are more neutral. Also, the blue of the sky is purer and more saturated. In the uncorrected image, the high portion of the sky loses some of its saturation due to an overabundance of red, which has been removed in the corrected image.
